Bharal, was the first animal from the Montpellier Zoo in southern France that I chose to paint. The idea came to me as a gesture of gratitude—an homage to this remarkable place: a free and protected space open to all, sustained to this day through the generosity of the community.
I began with the blue sheep, native to the high Himalayas, imagined here playing the flute. Its music intertwines with the melodies of the region’s Indigenous peoples—songs that carry their sorrows and dreams in a voice both enchanting and resonant
