This painting is part of the Nostalgia exhibition, in which I explored visual interpretations of several musical modes and Andalusian muwashahat. This particular work embodies the song “Isk Aletash” Music and created by Mohammed Akil Almonbgi on Hijaz maqam, when they to pray for rain in Syria

The calligraphy features the following poem:

"My Lord, my eyelids have dried up from tears and longing

They have taken up residence in my heart

My Lord, I have committed a wrong but I am seeking your forgiveness

Please have mercy on me

Oh you who is generous, faithful, content, and benevolent

Water the thirsty one, Oh generous one

My mind is maddened by thirst

Quench the longing and water the thirsty

Oh Merciful One, let me drink from the spring of kindness"
