With all that is unfolding in Gaza today, and with the sense of helplessness and frustration we feel as individuals, art becomes an essential voice—expressing hidden emotions and carrying a message that, at the very least, we can stand in solidarity with the cause.
I chose the words of the renowned Syrian poet Nizar Qabbani: “Every lemon will give birth to a child, and it is impossible for the lemons to end.” A poem I first encountered in middle school—one that has grown with us and, sadly, still mirrors a painful reality to this day.
