This painting is part of the Nostalgia exhibition, in which I explored visual interpretations of several musical modes and Andalusian muwashahat. This particular work embodies the song “Ya bahjat alrouh” Music by Sayed Darwish and singing by the great Syrian singer Sabah Eakhri on Kourd maqam
The lyrics are as follows:
